Take it with you

Choose one ordinary part of your day.

Making breakfast.

Driving somewhere.

Taking a shower.

Folding laundry.

Walking into work.

Standing outside for a moment.

While you’re there, bring a little of your attention inward.

Notice your breath.

Notice the pace you’re moving at.

Notice where your body feels soft and where it might be holding a little tension.

Notice how you actually feel in this moment.

You don’t need to stop what you’re doing or change anything you notice.

Just let yourself be aware of yourself while you continue living the moment you’re already in.

Maybe it lasts thirty seconds. Maybe only one breath.

And then continue with your day.

The practice doesn’t always have to happen somewhere separate from your life.

Sometimes you simply take it with you.
